This is my second Bestek USB Power Strip 8-Outlet Surge Protection. After Hurricane Maria struck, it drew a lot of attention from other residents. Many of them waited for me to go downstairs to charge their electronics because they found it was faster and safer to charge them through my cutlery. The building management used generator power plants for our buildings. However, I bought my bestek to protect my electronics from power surges long before Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. A backup power plant is far from perfect when it comes to generating electricity. My first Bestek still works very well. I bought this second set for a new laptop, scanner and printer, and my equipment was protected from many of the power surges that Puerto Rico still experiences today.
