Bought because the price was right. I was aware of some quality issues, but some previous reviewers said it would be an easy fix if you were on hand. I'm a keen DIY enthusiast and have a Ham Radio license so why not. Of course, a microphone was fine for my purposes; the other not. I wasn't tempted by the hassle/cost of trying to send it back for a replacement, plus it can be a good learning experience as a handyman. the right bits on hand), and as others reported, some plastic from the molding process covered the gap above the microphone module. I scraped it off with a pocket knife, put it back together and now it works perfectly. The repair took less than 10 minutes. Minus 2 stars because I had to fix something that should have stuck in production assembly. Update: Angela from Retevis apparently contacted me based on this review and on her own initiative and sent me another microphone as a replacement. Plus 1.5 stars for EXCELLENT customer service.
