Poor assembly, soldering. No quality control!

One of the two worked. I was willing to eat the price to break one to see the quality. If my team had brazed like that, I would have fired them. The PCB connection must be solid, no excuses. The strain relief must be firmly connected to the skin to ensure quality. We use a handheld microphone throughout the day. Leaning, running and mostly 40-100 feet in the air. They're all built the same, so why not make the most of it.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

The ones that work, work great. Read the update!

I ordered four for work. 2 of the four work and work great and I highly recommend them. However, one doesn't work at all and the other is so quiet that you can't hear it at all. Whoever works has failed and keeps on working. The ones that didn't work didn't work from day one. ************** Update ************************* ****** Manufacturer sent a replacement broken block, works great with no problems! Rating change to 5 stars!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Expensive

Sounds much better

I had a Baofeng handheld microphone and it sounds terrible. I drilled a bigger hole and that helped, but the sound still wasn't that good. OK. I decided to try Retevis microphones and I have to say for the price you can't go wrong. Do they sound as good as Comm Mountain? not so good but much better than Baofeng. And you get 2 for the price of one Comm Mountain Mic. I'm ready to order another pair.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Good quality for the price.

Good sound quality for $. I mainly use them for search and rescue. Staying in the forest in any weather can cause damage to equipment. I will not lose a single sleep disorder or lose any of them. I have more expensive speaker mics and can't tell them apart from the more expensive ones. The only complaint I have is that the clip doesn't rotate. My TYT has a rotating clip and headphone jack, but it also costs three times as much.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • I'll add later

Easy repair with the right tools

Bought because the price was right. I was aware of some quality issues, but some previous reviewers said it would be an easy fix if you were on hand. I'm a keen DIY enthusiast and have a Ham Radio license so why not. Of course, a microphone was fine for my purposes; the other not. I wasn't tempted by the hassle/cost of trying to send it back for a replacement, plus it can be a good learning experience as a handyman. the right bits on hand), and as others reported, some plastic from the molding…

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Faulty
