Review on 🔦 Dorman Help! 42188 Chrysler Headlamp by Anthony Mangum

Each headlight requires two of these mounting nuts. After the 1st of the wings separated while putting it in, I tried to warm up the next one a bit with a hair dryer and it also broke in the same place. It was a Dorman 42188 P/N designed to fit a variety of Chrysler headlights. My guess is that they were cast in nylon with too much regrinding or poor process control. I speak only as a former plastic designer. In the same order, I bought some Dorman 42185 P/N for the Jeep and measured them with calipers. They proved functional in size, so I installed them instead. They work great, cost about the same, and are more reliable too. Broken and unused models P/N 42188 are not worth the hassle of returning or refunding.
