As I travel extensively and frequently travel between New England and the Southern States, carrying both the EZ Pass and SunPass has become a problem. Especially if you forgot one. When I saw this I decided to give it a try. It's a bit more expensive on Revain but the wait time on the EPass website is over 2 weeks and I thought it was worth a few bucks. Activation was a bit fiddly. There are 3 "serial numbers" printed on the device - one for E-Pass, one for SunPass and one for EZ-Pass systems - and the instructions don't tell you which ones to activate on the website. After trying them all, the third was the talisman and it loaded and activated perfectly. The big downside for me is that you can only bet on one vehicle per account at a time. So if you are a rental car like me, you should remember to log in, delete your existing information and add your rental car. Then remove the rental car and add your own when you're done. EZ Pass and SunPass make this easy. I like the lack of two different transponders. I used it recently and it worked fine. It takes about a day to change the amount on your account. At first I thought I was doing something wrong, but the support rep said it was just the way the services interacted and not a problem with the service. So expect your current balance to be delayed when checking after payment. The plaza.EZ Pass (depending on the state you purchase it in) either charges a monthly or annual fee, or gives you a discount on certain bridges depending on the state. I don't think there will be any of those discounts, but I'll agree just knowing I won't have two transponders or deal with annual or monthly fees. I also like that it works with many states. I probably won't visit most of them other than the typical East Coast one, but I'm glad they exist. So far, so good. The app is directly on the iPhone. I just wish they would add an option for a second machine so you don't have to remove your existing machine to add a new one. For those who regularly have two cars (rental, spouse, etc.) and can't afford the hassle. I am happy to return my SunPass and EZ Pass in the coming weeks. Update: mass collection passed on a last trip and so far the asylum hasn't been charged. Not sure if there is a problem with the device (it's been a few weeks) and all other toll booths in other states are registered fine. Hoping I don't get an invoice in the mail because it didn't work in Mass (as it should have). There was a sign that said the Mass EZ Pass has one price, the out of state EZ Pass has another, and the inbox sign was a third price. will give a massive discount but I'm not happy when I get a bill in the mail because it didn't work or it's just not an 'EZ Pass' but an 'EZ Pass Compatible' device.
