Ugly yes, but Glerups are the best slippers you will ever buy: they make your feet as comfortable as possible, they are warm, do not sweat, and inside they do not knead like flip-flops (I'm looking at you, UGG). We've had several pairs over the years, leather soles (which are fine too), boot style etc, but this style with that *specific* rubber sole was the top choice here at PNW. (Other rubber soles used to be made, but in my experience this sole has better grip, is softer and looks better.) Odorless, durable, washable (AIR DRY). For a little more room we both go up a size than usual: those with wide feet who prefer barefoot or minimal shoes will actually like them, there are no toe restrictions and the flexible bottom still gives a bit of ground feel.
