Welt pockets don't have zips so aren't as secure as the ones they have, but are lined with soft fabric to allow hands easy access to the pockets. No scratches like some zippers. I used to have trouble with Lightning, but maybe I just couldn't get it to work properly. No more problems with it so I hope the zipper lasts. The fit is good - not too tight or baggy. Stretch fabric on the sides makes it easy to adjust if you gain or lose a little. The ribbed jersey collar is more comfortable than the quilted synthetic collar.
