This was one of the dog food brands that the vet recommended to me when I got two Standard Poodles. They had some digestive issues probably due to anxiety when I got them so they had to eat homemade rice and chicken for a while. I gradually replaced some of this dog food with rice and now they mostly eat this dog food (with a little homemade chicken or egg). The vet advised to soak the dog food before giving it to the dogs. I found they had to soften it considerably for a few hours to get it right. Now I put the allotted portion of this kibble in the dog's clean bowl right after a meal, adding water to avoid covering the kibble and covering it with a lid to soak for about 8 hours before the next meal. It works well. Her advice was also to not exercise dogs half an hour before meals and half an hour after meals. They are healthy dogs and very active. However, poodles have delicate digestive systems, and these tips have made eating easier for them.
