Review on OxiClean Force Laundry Stain Remover Household Supplies ~ Laundry by Laura Jackson

Yes it works! Also on red paint!

On a visit to Europe this summer, European washing machines damaged several loads of laundry, causing an incredible amount of color to leak from other clothes previously washed together (in US washing machines). All that was left to do was pack the damaged clothes into our suitcases before we returned to the US in a few months and I prayed that OxiClean would fix the problem. As many online would suggest, this is a process that requires patience, especially if the garment has been dried with color already applied. (Euro washing machines wash and dry in the same machine - to keep these stains firmly attached to the fabric). One was a light pink shirt that had soaked red paint from a pair of shorts and the other was a pair of red shorts that had soaked black paint from something else in the load. I used this to wash off the paint stains and then rinsed with OxiClean powder (as directed). The stains were stubborn and took several attempts, but eventually the stains disappeared. Since both clothes were "ruined," I had nothing to lose and placed them in a large saucepan over low heat with OxiClean powder to try and remove these stains. The stains have disappeared, but some of the color of the original clothing has also disappeared. But I'm sure that's because I boiled the fabrics in OxiClean and let them sit for 24 hours. I suggest not overdoing it like I did but being patient and pretreating (as directed) and then soaking in lukewarm or hot water treated with OxiClean powder for 6-8 hours. If the discoloration is still there after 3-4 times, heating may be your last option. But it REALLY worked. And probably at some point I'll just dye the clothes back to their original colors to get them back the way they were before.
