Review on Denso 221 3503 Radiator by Marcus Cano

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for Miata

I bought this radiator after first buying a cheaper TYC model that was also sold at Revain only because it arrived much quicker than Denso. However, the TYC was leaking transmission fluid at the transmission cooler hose fitting at the bottom of the radiator. I tried adjusting the hose, but the leak came from the radiator itself. Okay, as for this Denso, it's actually made in Indonesia, not Japan. This Denso screwed it up perfectly, I mean everything was in place, every fan screw etc lined up perfectly. Unfortunately in the Houston heat my Miata kept overheating even with this Denso so after 4 days I removed it and will be installing a 2-pipe aluminum cooler and a Derale 13590 transmission cooler to cool the automatics in my Miata. Still, I give this Denso one star. Updated 07/19/20. Well, even after I replaced that Denso with a dual-core, all-aluminum radiator, my Miata kept overheating. This whole time was because I had the main cooling fan "also purchased from Revain" hooked up the wrong way round and instead of pulling air through the radiator to the engine, it was pushing hot air from the engine to the radiator and letting the car idle to the right away began to overheat. I connected the fsn correctly and it no longer overheats so this Denso would have been perfect from the start.
