good light. good for housewares

Media could not be loaded. I bought one on ebay and then waited forever for it. As soon as I received it I filled it up and tried it out. At first I couldn't light it, but then I found a flathead screwdriver, turned the dial on the bottom a little to increase the flame, then moved the knob on the side to turn on the gas, and boom, it worked! I've found this doesn't work at all with some brands of butane, depending on the shape of the applicator the butane comes out the side and the extra tips they come with only make it worse (this has happened with Superblu and Neon butane brands, they have super thin applicators). Butane grades that work best with this lighter: 1. Vector 14x (but hard to find and expensive).2. Whipit Ultra Pure (white bottle) Vector was the easiest to use. The Whipit worked, but I found that it had to be pushed in with a lot more force than I normally use (like the Vector can) to keep all the gas from escaping the sides. It's supposed to work great, but the caliber of the butane applicator is an important consideration with this lighter. The metal applicators of some butane gas cans are too narrow for this lighter (e.g. Superblu or Neon). Once you've filled it with gas, don't light it or set it up immediately. Let the gas settle. It is dangerous to light it until it cools to room temperature. I love this lighter, it's very slim, nice weight and easy to use. , which are all similar and everyone has! I've lost so many Bic lighters.
