I spent an incredible amount of time researching these tripod mounts as the one that came with my tripod wasn't very good. I thought it was stronger than it is. It does not use a spring or screw but has a ratchet mount. This makes it easy to remove the phone but not as secure as a screw. Another issue is that the mount is not thick enough to hold an iPhone 12 pro max with a case. Removing the case to hang the phone is inconvenient. The angle adjustment is useful because it gives you another way to set the right angle alongside the tripod adjustment, but it feels like it breaks off easily.
