Review on EZ-Fit: Stair Baby Gate Walk Thru Adapter Kit for Child and Pet Safety - Protecting Banisters and Walls (Single Pack, 36 Inch) by Sarah Abarca

Bought two of these to use at the top of the stairs from banister to banister (Evenflo Secure Step Hardware Mount metal gate). My railing is slightly offset, so I need these boards to stay on the edges, not right in the middle of the railing's vertical centerline. After initial setup with the included padding and velcro straps, I found that the boards would slide towards the center on their own. To prevent this, I had to add my own command bars. I also added some foam to fill in the extra space between plank and plank, but that's probably not necessary (see photo). I wouldn't be comfortable with the stability of this product without the Command strips. Another issue I had was that they are flimsy so Evenflo gate screws need to be drilled deeper than these boards. So I drilled through them and the railing for my purposes. I could probably go to Home Depot and buy shorter screws than gate hardware. However, I didn't really bother drilling the railings. The main reason I needed them was so that the top attachment part of the gate matched the round, narrow part of the railing. Without them I would not have been able to assemble the gate.
