Review on Stylish Metallic and Bold 🐢 Non-Metallic Perri's Padded Leather Dog Collars by Kristen Vang

Excellent collar - take care of the skin and it will last a long time!

This collar is really beautiful; We get a lot of compliments at the dog park. I have been familiar with Perry leather since I have ridden horses (they are used to make halters, bits etc) and thought I would share some tips to help you extend the life of this collar. This should eliminate negative reviews including color upholstery chipping. Skin used to be living skin; Of course, this is no longer the case, so since it can't be naturally cleansed and moisturized like a live cow's skin, YOU have to do it! If you don't do this, the leather will dry out, peel, crack, rot, etc. Luckily, caring for your leather isn't difficult or expensive. I recommend Leather CPR (also available here and available at hardware/pet stores everywhere) for an affordable all-in-one product that cleans and conditions. Use a small amount on a rag once or twice a month; wipe off all excess, do not leave any product on the skin and do not cake; Especially the seams should be clean and free of dirt, otherwise they will rot and the collar will fall apart over time. If you don't want the collar to stretch, purchase a separate collar or harness. When you put pressure on the skin (i.e. pull on the dog), it stretches. My dogs are tough on these collars; They swim in it, fight and occasionally bite collars, run through mud, etc. They keep well when they walk. No peeling. Did I mention they are beautiful? You are looking very beautiful. We paid the same price at Petsmart for a significantly lower quality collar that fell apart; This collar will be LONG LASTING! The padding is also more comfortable around the dog's neck. Pictured is my lab at 14.5"; the center fits her nicely over the center hole.
