I received this desk today and I haven't assembled it yet. Although it looks pretty straight forward. I have checked every detail to ensure there are no damages and none. The wood is beautiful, smooth, stains well. I like the color whatever it is. Looks "rich". I like the table top too. It has a groove around the entire perimeter, giving it a premium look. I bought this drafting table to replace the one I bought from Dick Bleek. Dick Blick did not make the table I bought from them but Fox Haase mfg. The table in the first place was expensive and was damaged. Not damaged by UPS, damaged by MFG. Poor workmanship, sloppiness and negligence in everything. I contacted Fox Haase and Dick Bleek. Mr Fox refused to even apologize and told me to contact Dick Bleek. OK, I have. After sending them lots of pictures of the damage I was offered a replacement (same table) or a refund. I decided to return the money and bought a table here. I have no idea who made the table. All I know is that the seller is Studio Designs. Whoever did it, they did a good job. Sometimes the old adage "you get what you pay for" isn't always true. I paid a lot for the Fox Haase table and got rubbish. I assembled this table yesterday and I want to say that at first I had a hard time assembling it even though it doesn't have a lot of details. I didn't realize for about 20 minutes that the small pieces of metal called "bolt connectors" have to fit fully into the hole in the cross pieces that hold this table together. I couldn't figure out why the screw wouldn't stick to the connector. I hate packing! That was the only problem I had with this table. The table is good and looks very nice. Doesn't look cheap. However, you must be aware that the table is short. You must be sitting on a low stool or chair to use this drafting table. It becomes difficult for tall people if they somehow do not lift the table on something. Not sure why this table is so short as it's not specifically made for kids but it's a good height for them. I'm of average height and ordered a stool that hadn't arrived so actually checked to see if this table was too short for me. Overall, however, this is a nice, well-built drafting table that looks good. I'm only now able to post photos while I couldn't when writing this review. Not sure why. You can see how good the drafting table is. It looks great and is strong. You can also see how short it is. I also bought a stool here and it's really cool. I have a copper finish. I hope these photos help you decide on this table because as I said above if you are a tall person you cannot use this table. Luckily I'm not big. Oh, and I saw a pen holder idea on the internet and made it for myself. I used cedar trimmings, bought a metal brace here and cobalt goggles from another site. In fact, these are glasses made from beer bottles. The last jar is just a small mason jar I had. It's very easy to make and if you decide to make one of these make sure the containers you receive have some sort of "protrusion" so they don't slip out of the holder.
