I already had a conventional cassette tool and wrench to match. I needed a deeper spline tool to allow for the transition to a thru-axle. I could have just bought a spline tool and saved a few bucks but decided to give it a try as it wasn't much more. Very glad I did this, it makes things a lot easier as I no longer have to mess around with coordinating two separate tools. Less weight overall but much easier to apply the force required and also be aware of the risk of losing a small single spline tool.
