Oooooooh, the benefits (which, as far as I understand, outweigh everything else): - WORKS. I currently work two jobs at the FT and don't have time to cook meals right now. I can put in my RAW chicken breasts and dry rice and I've COOKED by lunchtime. It usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour to cook. - I know people complain about the portion size you can put in it, but for me it's a plus. I can eat enough where I'm FULL after eating. Just a little more and I feel like we'll finish the rest so as not to waste food. I like the fact that they are this size because it helps with portion control. As I mentioned above, time is a commodity I have VERY little these days, which is why I can't exercise like I normally do, so I'm doing the next best thing I can: control my food/calorie intake. It helps with that. CONS: - Maaaaan that thing is dirty. You MUST put towels underneath and have plenty of excess water on hand that will be EVERYWHERE. Don't be embarrassed, but that's not a complaint. The device works through a stem... so yes, there will be water. It's just LOTS. Keep in mind. Cleaning the parts that actually come out of the unit is extremely easy, but cleaning the tank where you actually pour water can be a hassle, especially when moving food gets in there. This is especially tricky because you can't just walk under water like the other parts because all the electrical components are there. My light went out at the front power button, maybe after the second use. (Hence my reason for deducting a star). First I used the light to let me know when the water was running out downstairs. And it lets you know to add more, as a power outage means no cooking. I got annoyed at first when it went out, but now I just check it more often (the steam coming from above and the sound you actually hear when you put your head up are good signs it's still cooking and water is available). ). So the lack of light wasn't a huge hindrance to the deal, but it was helpful when it first went live. May I recommend it? As one of the ONLY electric lunch boxes I've seen on here that actually COOK your food and not just reheat it, I DEFINITELY think this is an amazing purchase and you should definitely buy one!
