The "synthetic" material the shoes are made of gives off a foul, persistent odor. I had to go out onto the porch hoping to get some air. The smell is so strong that I can still smell the shoe outside even after the fifth day outside. Hopefully the smell will wear off after Halloween or I'm worried they'll give off toxic fumes. I asked the seller what material it is made of and if plastic what kind and # how it should be placed or at least with shoes like most plastic items that don't exist. It only states that the shoes are synthetic. The seller has not yet replied or included in the description. Also, the shoes were smaller than expected, about half a size smaller than in the US, but still fit my daughter. Just hoping for longer use (and until the smell wears off). *** UPDATE 11/02/20: Shoes still smell bad - after 2 weeks outside and 2 days inside. The house is full of smells. I wouldn't like to ride in shoes, but maybe not. The seller still hasn't contacted me with the exact type of plastic. This can be a worrying concept.
