Table is solid when fully assembled. The table top is a durable composite wood laminate. If you tap it, you will feel its power. If you want a sense of stability then this table is for you. There are a few downsides: 1) Get help. It's even in the user manual. The table is heavy and you need to turn it upside down first, so ask a friend to help you turn it back down. When making a table, the strength of the table top also becomes an issue. There are pilot holes for screws, but the material is still very hard. I messed up a few drill bits when inserting them and you need to make sure you are putting enough force on the drill press. *** You CANNOT fill out this table without a drill. *** Also installing the 30" return was extremely difficult. I wish they had a few more color options. I think blue gray would be an interesting option to pair with the legs. The difficulty in assembling the table is worth the two stars in my opinion. It was very difficult and the screws just wouldn't go in. If you want a table that feels solid then by all means buy this table. something strong but also easy to make. maybe there are better options.
