Not Airtight/Watertight so if you need a sealed container look elsewhere. It's not a problem for me, I bought it to wash and store blueberries and it works great as I can wash and drain and store 2 pints of dry blueberries in it. It holds more but when I try to store more than 2 pints these start to wrinkle at the bottom. The lid is secure enough to be flipped upside down when full of water and squirts out without ripping the lid off, but loose enough to easily come off when one side is up, perfect for my needs.
