First impression: the pitcher was smaller than expected. However, I measured the maximum liquid and it holds 68 oz. when it is almost filled to the brim. More realistically, it contains 64 oz. (8 sc) to the base of the neck. It's so light I didn't believe it was glass at first, but it turned out to be glass. The glass is very thin, looks thinner than the carafe glass of my coffee machine. The lid is hard plastic and doesn't fit as tightly as I'd like; However, it stays on when poured and stayed on when I tested it by turning the pitcher upside down. I find the design very appealing and well balanced - easy to cast with one hand, even with a wrist injury - so I've decided to keep it. Haven't tried it with hot water yet, so I haven't tested it for heat resistance until I know more.
