I have an old ASUS laptop that overheats frequently, sometimes several times a day. In the summer, I pointed Vornado at him. I apply thermal paste once a year. Sometimes I've used ice packs underneath. This cool pack was the deal of the day so I gave it a try. Plus: It seems to lower the temperature by 1-2 degrees Celsius, it's not noisy, if you position the laptop correctly, it will blow some air towards you. Meh: I used to put the laptop on wooden blocks because I use it as a work desk with a monitor, now I put the cooling pad on wooden blocks so that the air comes from below, if I only use the cooling pad it will overheat. Cons: The fans aren't that powerful, it only cools 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, which might not be enough in the summer. It's overheated 80% less since I started using this pad, but I suspect it won't do much in the summer. Still, it's worth getting more life out of the laptop, well beyond its expected lifespan.
