Works perfectly for spares

any other suppliers who sell the exact same part number but don't supply the correct part. This is exactly what my '87 Mitsubishi ESI-R needs.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Basically OK but...

FJ40 Speedometer Cable Replace

Not as strong as the original. The fabrication has reinforcement collars at each end. Works well but make sure to lubricate well before installation.

But it works. on parts

The cable works but it would be better if I knew the body connector at the end of the meter is not a threaded connector which is required for my 1967 Landcruiser. I was able to get the plugin to work by sawing off the larger diameter rim.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • There are new competitors

This is what supposedly works with the second.

This is said to work with the 2nd Gen RX7. I had to modify the back of my cluster to fit, hook and latch into the entrance. It works, but below 45 mph my speedometer needle jumps a lot. In short, if that's all you have to work with (at least with the RX7) then it will work, but you have to get it to work and then it will work very poorly.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Nothing

Works as described on the speedometer cable

After updating the speedometer, I also had to update the cable. I thought it would be good for the price and gave it a try. It was the right length and matched my transfer case perfectly. I was concerned about the crappy plastic clip which I thought might be broken when it arrived, but it fits and stays on the back of my speedometer and the reading is only off by 2mph. Some friends have advised me to lubricate the cable housing with white lithium grease on both ends before inserting the cable…

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons

Ideal for classic car restoration

I bought this speedo cable specifically for a 1977 Toyota FJ40, this cable was of a higher quality than the cable I had previously bought from a Land Cruiser company. The length of this cable was perfect to run from the transfer case behind the firewall to the back of the instrument cluster. It has just enough slack to be able to tilt the cluster forward to unplug the cable, but not so much slack that I'm concerned it will touch the exhaust pipe or snag something under the car. Ideal for those…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

suitable for FJ40! for speedometer cable

This cable should replace another speedometer cable in a 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. About 6 months ago I replaced the original 2 piece kit with a wired 1 piece that I bought from the Land Cruiser Special website in Texas because my speedometer was cracking. This cable was slightly longer and it turned out that the way I routed it along with the excess length bent and eventually broke the cable. This cable is a bit shorter and I *hope* won't recreate the bend and break. I just installed it…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
