A good product; poor documentation and parts support

This is a great little pump that comes with very poor instructions and "zero" parts support. Probably most of the frustration people express has to do with inadequate instructions, a lack of video or troubleshooting support, and a lack of communication between sales and parts support. Questions like those asked here should be answered in the manual (e.g. do you have to fill up every time or just the first time?), but it doesn't. (Answer: Yes, every time.) They warn you that your pump may be damaged, but the good news is that if it stops working, you can repair it with a replacement part. But you'll have to look it up separately because your pump dealer probably won't know. I put a barrier between the pump and the water to keep the water from falling, but what I didn't notice because I couldn't see the pump was that when I moved the suction hose around, it "run". to get water. Water. And while he "ran", the suction hose unscrewed from the pump. So the little impeller overheated and came loose. But replacing this part is cheap, which is what I did. There are small holes in the pump housing for it to screw to the surface, so I'll do that now. The documentation and/or videos should cover things like this, but they don't, which is why I'm pretty sure pumps get thrown away or brought back because people didn't know what else to do.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • So-so
