Review on LINKUP - Extreme4+ PCIe 4 by David Bowens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works as advertised, premium price for a mediocre product.

I ordered a 20cm rectangular vertical cable to replace the incompatible 3.0 cable that came with the Phanteks vertical GPU. To my dismay, I couldn't get the included cable to work with my Gen4 GPU (the RTX-3090 in this case) and had to double the price of the original mount to get it working. So here are the pros and cons. : Pros: - Riser cable works as advertised with x570 motherboard and 30 series GPU @ PCI-e Gen4. install Disadvantages: -Price. At $62.95, this cable is absurdly expensive, and for the Gen3 to Gen4 performance gain, it's probably not worth the investment (look for LTT PCI-e 4.0 benchmarks on YouTube). Gen4 compatibility with x570 chipsets is currently very unstable. This has nothing to do with the cable itself, but if you're having trouble with UBS while running your GPU on 4.0, it's likely due to a currently unresolved issue that AMD is working to fix. right angle cable with my Phanteks Vertical GPU Bracket. The mounting points are too short to fit securely under the screws and the center of the plate is very flexible; almost to the point where I feared it would burst from the pressure of tightly attaching the GPU. Conclusion: The cable does what it should and should work with modern GPUs (RTX-30XX/Radeon 6XXX). While the price advantage probably doesn't add up, you need this cable if you're trying to squeeze every last drop of performance out of your fancy new gaming rig and don't want to mount your GPU vertically. The game is on, chad.
