I bought this primarily to cook many different types of rice like white, jasmine, brown and other foods like quinoa and mixes. There is a slight scorch towards the center but I think it's the water ratio that I need to adjust from time to time. I personally DO NOT FOLLOW the water level in the inner pot as the rice gets very soft. I go 2-3 millimeters below the waterline. The quality of the device seems to be very good. The controls look simple and the quality of the non-stick inner pan is excellent. Too often manufacturers have made Teflon coating cheaper and the food still sticks. The only issue I might have is a little confusion with the Instant/Steam button. It has the same image of the White Rice button but different colors. So why the pressure cook/steam function? Only for steaming vegetables? Then it should only be STEAM with an inscription. I haven't tried the porridge feature, but I will rarely use it to make homemade soups. I wish there was a beep when it's done. And I wish there was a shovel holder. I wish there was a removable steam/water drain tank instead of built in left and right drain areas. I've seen it for years.
