The density of the suction cup is so small that it won't even stick to the windshield. The way the stand works and the telescopic design is pretty cool and effective in all but one area, the suction cup clamping mechanism. It twists to tighten while forcing the tight seal to snap into place. Unfortunately, it's so difficult to turn that the seal becomes unstable and inconsistent, and air can get in between the sticky suction cup and the dashboard. They sacrificed cup size and relied on sticky, uncomfortable glue. I can't use mine in the car at all. Instead, I attached it to a round loupe weighing 5 pounds and 8 inches with a flat bottom and a curved top. I attached it to the fold because that's the only way the suction cup will hold the seal in place.
