I liked it so much that I bought another one!

I bought this amp (and a pair of Dual LU53PW 5 ΒΌ" passive speakers) to replace my 15 year old amp. An old Sharper Image wireless speaker system. The input for this setup was a 1 /8 connector that went into the headphone jack on my phone. I wanted a bluetooth amplifier and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a garage stereo. My grand total was less than $100 (I already had 20 feet of speaker wire). I installed that Amplifier and the speakers on the built in shelves I built. It sounds great! The included power supply is 12 volts. You can use a power supply that supplies up to 24 volts but I don't think I need it, it just is a garage If you think you want more volume, the power input jack is 5.5mm * 2.1mm, if you check other power adapters (you k you can buy this amp without a power supply). Once paired, it connects to my phone as soon as I turn it on. If you have a lot of music of your own on your phone, use the Poweramp Android app to play your music. You can fine-tune the sound, balance, and other settings with this app, and then save those settings as a preset. You then associate that preset with that particular Bluetooth connection. When I use the poweramp in my garage it automatically uses the preset (I like lots of bass). Pay $5 for this amazing music app. The second one I bought is for my closed deck. As it is outside I had to replace the speakers (two speakers had reviews saying they rusted when used outside). I bought Moukey M20-2 passive speakers in black (my deck is painted black). I also bought Sunnyglade ABS Plastic. IP65 Dustproof Waterproof Junction Box A versatile, lockable, heavy-duty electrical enclosure (3.9" x 5.9" x 2.8") that can house an amplifier. a spare 120VAC wire connector in the corner of my deck .I plugged this connector into the only outlet now used for my second amp.I bought the PS again along with the amp and plugged it into a switched outlet. The DC power cable from it goes to the waterproof box as well the wires connecting to the speakers (see fig 4) All wires run through locally purchased automotive electrical sockets also purchased locally (price was the same between Lowes and Revain) Total cost of the sound system for the deck was a little over $100 as I also had to buy wire (100ft of 16 gauge Lowes landscape wire was the cheapest. Please note there are 3 versions of this amp. It has a slide switch e.g to switch on and off. The other two look like momentary switches and most likely won't work for my deck since I'm removing power from the device by unplugging the source. Since I live in a neighborhood, I don't want to disturb my neighbors. The preset I saved for the soundboard in Poweramp has less bass so I don't push the Moukey speakers like I did with the Duals in the garage. Both sets of speakers are good for their purpose/space. Looking back, I should have bought the next size up for the Sunnyglade box. Everything fits, but a little tight. I took a piece of oak to form a stand to hold the amp in place, but if you just plug it into the 3.9" x 5.9" x 2.8" box, without holding it in place, the volume knob can rotate a little when you close the box. If you want to adjust the radius of the amp's curved sides, a 7/8" spatula is perfect. Also, I have everything colored to match either the color of my house or the color coordinate of the Bluetooth items on the deck.

Pros
  • Great workmanship
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
