You know we thought we'd take a chance even though there were other bad reviews. If you need a clock that shows the indoor temperature twice, then this clock is for you. We wanted to make sure the outdoor sensor was working before taking it outside based on other reviews, so we left it on our coffee table until it connected. When we got the same temperature both inside and outside the watch, we decided to move the external sensor outside. We first tried it about 20 feet from our front door where the old one used to be. He never got a signal. You know, maybe it was the batteries. We went to CVS and bought two new AAA batteries, brought them inside until they synced back up, and then took them outside. This time we tried to get closer. At a distance of 14 feet in a straight line through the window with the blinds open. He still hasn't gotten a signal from outside. We could never get the outside thermometer to work when it was outside. To be honest he worked indoors while being in the same room. We didn't try taking the clock outside to see if it would work if there wasn't a wall between the transmitter and the clock.
