Stand alone, this is the most absorbent version of these reusable nursing pads. I will only compare them to Bamboobies because in my experience most people have personally tried or had access to Bamboobies versus this brand: They absorb better than Bamboobies High Flow/Night. Bamboo stays and feels when wet; they absorb and feel dry. They are fairly soft but not as soft as bamboo; I don't feel any difference in them (note my nipples don't hurt from feeding so yours may be different). As already mentioned, it is terry material, very small loops. The pads are thicker and don't have a contour like other brands so you will notice some increase in volume as they compress and wrap around your chest which can be an issue if you have a large/round chest.
