Great replacement for the 38 year old Beam hose we used in two homes. This hose has some nice features compared to our old Beam hose that eventually lost air when it broke and uncoiled. This hose has an on/off switch on the hose's handle, which means we no longer have to press the switch on the powerhead to turn it on and off. The power cord is 8 feet long, which means we no longer have to use an extension cord like we sometimes had to do with the Beam hose, which had a power cord that was about 3 feet long. This hose had a comfortable grip whereas with the Beam hose you had to grip the rigid part of the hose where it inserted into the metal tube that led to the power head. Finally, this hose is 35 feet long, while the Beam hose is 30 feet long, which is about two feet less than it takes to get to any given corner of the house. The end of this hose fits snugly into the wall outlet. This hose is a bit stiffer than the Beam hose, but that's not a problem. I am very happy with this product and I hope it will last a long time.
