Nikon delivers. for camera and photography

Fantastic range, best image stabilization I have seen with no noticeable loss in quality across the range that it is a professional lens and solid construction. I use it a lot and am always very happy with the results. In daylight and good light, this lens delivers fantastic images from 18mm wide-angle to 200mm telephoto. Not having to change lenses on the fly is a gift from God. I shoot many sports for my clients and being on the sidelines of a football game where players are 10ft away for a second and 100ft further can be a nightmare. Without this lens I would have missed so many pictures. The only downside to the lens is that it lags a bit in low light. It's an all-in-one lens, after all, and if Nikon made it a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, the lens would have been three times the size and more expensive. I recommend having a Nikon 35mm f1.8 DX in your pocket. Also. This is the final DX setup. These two lenses on DX bodies. You don't need any other equipment because after that it depends on your skill to take good photos. One final note: if you're worried about lens flare, don't worry. This is not a problem. This only happens if you zoom the lens past 70mm, point the camera straight down and shake it. Which you shouldn't do anyway, because it's a dangerous way to walk around with a camera! Always keep your camera in the right place and walk around with full zoom!

Pros
  • Offers high resolution and contrast, excellent image quality and fantastic photographic versatility
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models
