Review on 🏎️ Enhanced PCV Valve Replacement for BMW N54 Engines: FTP Motorsport Upgrade for Improved Performance in E82 E90 E8X E9X 135i by Michael Bazen

Great upgrade over the OEM unit.

I got this because it was recommended by the manufacturers of the newly upgraded turbos I put in my BMW E90 335i N54. The OEM block is made of plastic, both the inner valve and the outer body. For me, that was the biggest difference, which impressed me immediately. Old plastic tends to fade, dry out, and crack, making the component less useful. This bad boy is made of aluminum and anodized in a cool chrome gray. This new part came with a fresh O-ring. I removed the old block with a 13mm open end wrench. Before removing the PCV block, I completely removed the driver's side fuel line from the driver's side, then loosened the other side a half turn, which allowed me to swing the silver metal tube back and out of the way. With free access, a simple 13mm wrench fits into the outer case when removed and opens the PCV valve itself. In most cases it can be removed with your fingers, for me the added effort was a small curved one Needle nose pliers required. With the low power tug came the PCV valve. I then used my finger to reach inside and remove the old o-ring. To complete the installation I fitted a new aluminum PCV valve into the new aluminum outer housing, installed the new o-ring that was included and screwed the block back into the receiver for this small system and secured with the specified combination of 13mm ratchets. In my aluminum case, keep the metal inserted into the plastic space, do not overtighten, the plastic may crack. We all know how proud BMW is of their plastic parts, a mistake can cost quite a bit of money. So be vigilant and don't overdo it with Godzilla. Remember to reconnect the fuel line, starting on the driver's side, making sure the strands are not twisted. Before the driver's side fuel line is all the way tight, tighten the other side snugly, then go back to the driver's side and give it a final bit to make sure it's secure, be careful not to overtighten again. Once you've swapped out the plastic under the hood and bolted it on, you'll be a proud DIYer rocking the most advanced PCV system available. It will work properly and all your Moorhead dreams will come true. Good luck and don't forget to keep the rubber side down. For your health!
