Review on Integers Game For Grades 6-8: Math Stacks From EAI Education by Daniel Reeder

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A fun and challenging game for young math whizzes - Integers Game earns 4 stars!

Math Stacks is a fantastic game for students in grades 6-8 who want to practice their integer skills in a fun and engaging way. The game is simple to set up, and the rules are easy to understand, making it a great tool for teachers looking to add some excitement to their math lessons. What sets Math Stacks apart is its versatility - it can be used for individual practice, in small groups, or even in whole-class settings. The game is fast-paced and requires quick thinking and mental math skills, which can be both challenging and rewarding for students. Overall, I highly recommend Math Stacks for anyone looking for a fun and effective way to practice integer skills. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is that some of the cards can be a bit confusing at first, so be prepared to spend a little extra time explaining them to your students. But once they get the hang of it, they'll be hooked!

Pros
  • The Math Stacks Integers Game can be used in a variety of settings, it's fitting for classroom or homeschool settings, parents can use them to teach their children math or teachers can use them as an additional teaching tool for a more fun and interactive learning experience
Cons
  • The game requires the use of colored chips to represent positive and negative numbers, which can potentially be lost or damaged, increasing the overall cost of implementation
