They break in a bit after a week or two, but these things sit about 1/4 inch from the fenders and will make contact and hit your tower with the slightest impact. I regularly tow 2000lbs or more in the bed with an 8000lb trailer and the ride is actually better than it used to be thanks to the rear axle stabilizer. No more high beams from other motorists.
