Love how quiet it is on low settings. Nothing rattles or hums on the underside. Of course, when you increase the speed you can hear a buzz, but no rattle, which is great. The only downside is that I wanted to put it at the other end of my bedroom, about 16 feet from the head of my bed. The remote control is not powerful enough to control it when it is at any distance. I even tried 5 feet. I had to put it next to me on the bedside table for the remote control signal to work. In one foot, what's the point? The whole purpose of spending the extra money on a remote controlled fan was so I could control it from a distance, just like I do with my TV and fireplace. (By the way the fireplace uses the same mini remote and battery size as this one and is on the same wall I was planning to place this fan on. It works great at that distance.) Came sealed/brand new so not sure why the remote isn't strong is. Quiet fan but terrible remote control.
