Review on Summer Infant Banister Universal Mounting by Holly Luna

Revainrating 3 out of 5

On round objects, it can slip, rotate and fail over time. Perhaps ideal for non-circular railings.

I bought this to attach a gate to a metal post. Protecting the baby gate can take quite a long time. This product does not necessarily reduce installation time or improve installation stability. On a round stand, the base is likely to rotate slowly. This can be quite dangerous because it can be safe for a few days or weeks and then suddenly fail because it just weakens. I also tried fixing it with silicone tape underneath but it was still slowly spinning over the next few weeks. It is therefore best to screw the bolt into a dowel made of wood, metal or plasterboard. I also noticed that the clips holding this in place don't have a backup safety mechanism if they break. And the teeth on the mechanism can be torn off. So be careful with this division and try not to use it. As for me, I just figured out how to hit a metal rail. It will sit there for years and I can always patch and repaint the metal later.
