Review on Wasserstein WiFi Water Leak Sensor: Smart Home Protection Against Water Damages - 2-Pack, White by Leo Black

Before you read about my troubles, please remember that I'm not new to home automation and wireless networking. I currently have not only 2 routers and a backyard hotspot/bridge, but also 2 multi-camera systems and various other smart devices that connect wirelessly to my home network and run through various apps on multiple IOS devices as well as Alexa-enabled devices. I bought a set of two of these sensors and downloaded the app to my iPhone 8 following the instructions. Initially I had no trouble connecting the sensors to the app using any of my Wi-Fi 2.4 signals and getting the sensors to fire and install themselves. Turn off the beep on the sensor (of course, that beep on the sensor itself was a barley whisper, as others have pointed out). The bigger issue was, as another reviewer mentioned, that no matter how I adjusted my phone settings or settings in the push notifications app, I didn't get a visual or audible alert on my phone when the sensor was exposed to water and triggered was made while the app was closed or even open. However, an alarm was displayed on the event history page in the app, but again no alarm sounded, despite having both banners and push notifications enabled on both the phone and the app itself. Also, there is a Wi-Fi test page in the app, and while I know the sensors were configured and saved in the app, as confirmed by the event history page, the Wi-Fi test page kept showing that the sensors weren't were found/within reach. Given these two issues, I can only assume that the latest version of the app is most likely buggy and at fault. I was hoping these sensors would meet my needs, but the sensor's low decibel level combined with the lack of in-app push notifications made me return them and order a D-Link product at a similar price.
