A little smaller than expected but decent enough. Pretty good for starting fires from scratch, although not as easy to use as a full-size ferrocerium rod (produces fewer sparks; you need very light and dry tinder). It would be nice if the flint wheel was bi-directional, it just spits sparks down. The tape cutter is nice and sharp, has a replaceable blade. Gate is very loose, could be a lot stiffer; The carabiner slips off easily. Also, the screw holding the tape cutter blade was the wrong size and had snapped off completely; I had to replace it. Luckily I have the tool to remove the screws.
