Ok but the valve came loose and the screw snapped off

A little smaller than expected but decent enough. Pretty good for starting fires from scratch, although not as easy to use as a full-size ferrocerium rod (produces fewer sparks; you need very light and dry tinder). It would be nice if the flint wheel was bi-directional, it just spits sparks down. The tape cutter is nice and sharp, has a replaceable blade. Gate is very loose, could be a lot stiffer; The carabiner slips off easily. Also, the screw holding the tape cutter blade was the wrong sizeโ€ฆ

Super handy gadget.

This baby is AMAZING. It took me a while to get a solid spark to start the fire as I've only used large signal rods in the past. Make sure you check it out and know how to use it before heading to Innwoods. My thumb hurt quite a bit the first time I tried it. Remember I used super dry tinder/bark. It's not the easiest of fire starters if you only have a few sticks, but it's SUPER handy when you put it down. The fact that it's also a lightweight hanging carabiner is also a plus, as if you'reโ€ฆ

Obviously it is a return and difficult to use

I loved this product. Something I could hang on my backpack and use for general use but ready in case of an emergency. When the box was opened it was clear that it was an exchange product. Plastic straps were cut and placed in a regular plastic bag. I was still willing to try. Try about three strokes and the wheel spins freely. No more friction. I had to assume that the ferro rod was worn out. Luckily I had a tiny set of screwdrivers and was able to unscrew one of the smallest set screws I'veโ€ฆ

More "neat " than "useful "

My wife got this for me for Christmas. Love it - it's an attractive piece of gear with a certain cool factor. It weighs 1.1 ounces, which isn't a lot, but the ounces add up, and if you prefer ultra-light weight, a soft brace is probably more useful. If you're not going ultra-light, why not take a real (ideally locking) carabiner with you? This gate is made from strong steel wire but only rests on a U-shaped recess - there is no 'ledge' to keep it from stretching under stress. Functionally, itโ€ฆ

Weak carabiner spring. Little sparks.

I bought this for work to keep my bags because I was sick of my regular hitter either getting hooked on things or just losing it completely because it won't stay closed in the promotional ring. It does the job but is difficult to use with gloves suitable for flame cutting. The spark it produces seems smaller than a regular firing pin and cannot easily ignite a rosebud unless you turn on the gas to ignite it, then increase it after it's ignited. The spring on the carabiner is rather weak and Iโ€ฆ
