I loved this product. Something I could hang on my backpack and use for general use but ready in case of an emergency. When the box was opened it was clear that it was an exchange product. Plastic straps were cut and placed in a regular plastic bag. I was still willing to try. Try about three strokes and the wheel spins freely. No more friction. I had to assume that the ferro rod was worn out. Luckily I had a tiny set of screwdrivers and was able to unscrew one of the smallest set screws I've ever seen. I put in a new rod but it's very difficult to put in the screw and spring. They should line up perfectly by squeezing the spring and pressing with the screwdriver. And when I say extremely difficult, in my case it's impossible. After a few attempts at pushing with a screwdriver and holding everything in place, it popped out before I could engage the threads. So much so that on the third try the set screw flew off the table and was never found. I wouldn't want to rely on it off-road. So now I have the most expensive gun I have ever bought, only now it costs the same as a $1 gun.
