More "neat " than "useful "

My wife got this for me for Christmas. Love it - it's an attractive piece of gear with a certain cool factor. It weighs 1.1 ounces, which isn't a lot, but the ounces add up, and if you prefer ultra-light weight, a soft brace is probably more useful. If you're not going ultra-light, why not take a real (ideally locking) carabiner with you? This gate is made from strong steel wire but only rests on a U-shaped recess - there is no 'ledge' to keep it from stretching under stress. Functionally, it has two small holes on one end for hanging things, but better plan for a bench line or similar as they're too small to easily thread 550 paracord through. It has a pretty decent lighter, but instead of standard flints it uses one Kind of very thin rod-shaped flint. It comes with two spares but so far I haven't figured out where you can get more. When you're going around a corner, it has a blade for slicing things, but it's built into a V-notch for safety. The 550 just about fits in, but doesn't have enough room for any type of cut, so it's hard to cut anything with. I think seat belts would be nice if you want something for your car. And finally, he has a flathead screwdriver. but the blade is too wide for small jobs and too flat/short for big screws. So if you're not using it for light mountaineering, camping with a full gear, EDC multi-tool replacement, or whatever, what good is it? Well it will definitely make a cool looking (albeit large) keychain. And it would be nice to have a tool kit in the car for emergencies. It's definitely attractive, simply. not that helpful.

Pros
