Ripping and tearing in sewing machine

I've tried several different bobbins and each one frayed, snapped and snapped my thread when I used them in the sewing machine. I tried other brands of bobbins to see if it was the thread or my sewing machine and other brands of thread worked fine. The few stitches I was able to make with these bobbins were also inconsistent no matter how much tension I applied to my sewing machine. I really wanted them to work on my sewing machine and not just for hand sewing.
