Not what I expected

First of all it was my first time stamping wires on a patch panel. I bought a small tool and didn't have a spring. Version purchased from Menards. After many tries with Klein on both low and high settings, I went back to the springless version. Tried using it for a 6A cable to a 6A patch panel. Klein's instrument has a slight wobble (top to bottom/left to right and a slight twist) up to 110 bits. It was difficult to line up the bit with the wire, and neither setting had enough force to force the wire into place or even cut it. I was four feet in the air on the stairs looking down at a server rack pierced with wires. I just took the tool out of my bag to see if I could find anything else. The "leaf lock" feature doesn't even work. You can take the racquet and spin it and it will come out. I would suggest looking for something better there.

Pros
  • Stamping tools
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine
