We like these little DVD players but they aren't without their faults. These are fairly cheaply made but are not so expensive that I can't afford to replace one if my kids drop it but most of the time they stay safely mounted to the back of the seat. I originally bought these for a family road trip. I have two toddlers and wanted a DVD player with an AV in and AV out option so that one player could serve as input for the other player (hubby and I didn't want two different movies screaming at us). However, we didn't want a dual screen unit because we wanted to be able to play separate movies with headphones as the kids' got older. This was the BEST solution at a REASONABLE price. Yes we could have spent $400 on higher quality products, but we didn't want to spend that much money to have it destroyed by our kids.Pros -- We like that there is both an AV input and AV output function. Buying a cable for a dual screen DVD player makes one unit feed into the other.- Decent price- Impecca customer service. At some point in the last year the screen on one of the units went dark. I contacted customer service and they instructed me to send the unit back. They attempted to repair and ended up replacing it with a new unit at no cost to me. Yes it took 4-6 weeks but they stood by their product.Cons -- Cheaply made. The unit feels cheap in your hand.- There is no "menu" button on the remote or the unit. So with our movies we either watch or fast forward the previews. Minor but occasionally irritating.- Car adapter cord is very short and not well made. I've been through 3 of these so far but ours get tugged on more than normal by the toddlers' kicking feet. Maybe under more normal circumstances and gentle use this wouldn't be an issue. Regardless I found a replacement online for a few $$$.- AV cord is not well made. Again, ours probably take more than average abuse but the plastic coating is pulling away from the plug leaving exposed wire. Because this doesn't have power, it isn't necessarily dangerous, just unsightly. Again a replacement is fairly cheap.
