Review on 💨 GE Serenity Series Window Air Conditioner - 6,000 BTU, Ultra-Quiet Cooling with Remote - Ideal for 250 Square Feet by Patrick Stowers

We bought this window unit as a backup for the air conditioning in our home. It powers a room on the warm south side of the building and provides emergency cooling when the power goes out and we are using our 8kW generator. The energy consumption is minimal and corresponds approximately to that of an iron. We were also surprised at how quiet the device is. We have had several window air conditioners over the years and this one certainly makes less noise than any of the others. helped me a lot in preparing for the installation. This is a must, even for those who have done it before. My only disappointment is that the air intake grille vibrates against the internal, non-removable air filter when the unit is running. A few inches of 1 1/4" wide open cell foam that came with the install kit solved the problem. It's mounted behind the GE logo on the air intake grille. The wireless remote control is a lot more useful than I thought. Can't do without it now .
