Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Mai Cook 3500W Electric Induction Cooktop - Stainless Steel Countertop Burners for Enhanced Performance by Larry Willis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Saved me a TON of propane!

I've been using it for home brewing for a few months now and I love it. I had to plug in my own NEMA 6-20 220V outlet but it wasn't difficult at all. I was skeptical that for the price it was poor quality and made in China but this unit is very high quality and I had no problems with it. Remember that the magnet will not work on this hob unless it sticks to the bottom of the pot/pan. Induction cooking only works with black materials. As with all product features, the only thing I can comment on is the power settings. I've only ever needed a good boil up, so I run it at 3600 watts for a 5 gallon boil up and then turn it off at around 170f (measured with a separate thermometer) to soak the grain for at least 30 minutes (that will take 5 minutes). gallons to 170f in less than 30 minutes). Then I increase it back to the max until I reach boiling and then reduce it to 1600w and then finally to 1200w + boiling for the rest of the hour. I also like that it can tell if it's a pot or not. A pot on the stove will work. If you remove the pot, it will also turn off. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my purchase!
