Review on AMD Athlon II X2 270 Regor 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 Dual-Core Processor – Retail ADX270OCGMBOX: High-Performance Desktop CPU with Dual Cores and 2x1 MB L2 Cache by Hanh Bach ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am one hundred percent satisfied with the purchase, I recommend this product to everyone.

I needed to upgrade from a Sempron 3000+ that was 5 years old, so I purchased a new one that was a Sempron 3000+ (1.6 GHz, AM2, Manila). After I updated the BIOS, it started up without any issues, and considering that I don't play games very often, the performance of the processor is more than sufficient. I can run Autocad and video encoding to mp4 under Nokia 5800 with no problems at all. It is true that the percentage was not loaded at 100% when the conversion was taking place; perhaps the hard drive became the bottleneck. The following generation, the Buldozer, will be AMD's focus, and it will support DDR4 =)

Pros
  • - Dual-core percentage; - Cheap pricing; - Temperature under load with a boxed cooler of 31C!; - Possibility of installation on boards with connectors AM2 and AM2+
Cons
  • - A level of performance commensurate with the cost.
