I'm white and have either wavy or very curly/frizzy hair depending on the humidity level and the products I use on my hair. This gel is now a permanent and indispensable part of my hair care routine. I squeeze the water out of my hair a few times so it doesn't get wet, but not too dry either. I apply Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid to my hands and wipe it off. I then take this gel and apply it to my hair, adding whenever it doesn't feel silky. Then I part my hair to one side and twist it away from my face. When it dries it looks like I curled my hair with a flat iron, but then I just toss the curls a bit. Works very well. Of course, this depends on what type of hair you have. Your hair will become more voluminous if you do the same and then use a blow dryer with a diffuser.
