I've had a PN-60 for about 3 years and I don't like it. I lazily put up with its shortcomings throughout the warranty period, but by the time I really needed it, it was already too late. Bring a compass and a map. I bought it for long bike rides, 12 hours or more. It was mostly useful for zooming out to make sure I wasn't stuck in a dead end and quite useful as a computer for trip stats. It would freeze after falling asleep if I stopped to eat a candy bar and such. To restart, the battery must be removed. This will result in the loss of the most recent track information (since the last auto save). I had to disable hibernation, which resulted in questionable battery life. Usually tracing was a gamble, but most of the time I knew where I was and had an idea of how to get home. If they really lost it would be terrible. He treated my bike like a car when I asked him to take me home. This will direct me to 4 lane restricted access freeways which if I could actually drive without being run off the road by 18 wheels would be illegal. There is no way to use country roads and avoid access restrictions and highways. So I changed the routing options to pedestrian (the only alternative). Then he will lead me straight through buildings, fences, backyards, not paying attention to roads, streets or paths; Just fly in a straight line over impassable mountains, cliffs, rivers or whatever. I ended up getting really lost on dark, narrow, winding country roads, blinded by car headlights in the dark and pouring rain, with dead batteries in my headlights, GPS and no spare parts. It nearly killed me. Downloading updates did not help. Are you saying that you don't need this GPS for cycling? If you're using it for hiking/hiking anywhere other than the wilderness (I wouldn't trust it either) it'll take you right through homes and backyards again. Switch to another option and get ready for the interstate and try not to drive on one-way streets. I really got lost walking through the state park which borders several city parks. He froze for a reason I can't remember; in turn, requires removal of the battery and loss of information. Attempting to return to my starting point, I guided myself through fenced-off backyards, swamps, and impenetrable terrain as night fell. Good for keeping fit, nothing more. Wouldn't buy again. Purchased Delorme battery, charger and 12 volt adapter; this is normal, although the PN-60 is very poor as a car GPS. I bought a Delorme bike mount from Ram (good stuff from the US), it broke but they replaced it under their lifetime warranty and just had to email a photo of the broken mount.
